Opaque pur­ple. Pow­er­ful, deep-pitched aro­mas of blue fruit pre­serves, licorice and mocha are lift­ed by a sug­ges­tion of cracked pep­per. Gen­tly sweet dark fruit and spice­cake fla­vors show good depth and gain ener­gy with aer­a­tion. Rich and expan­sive but live­ly as well, fin­ish­ing chewy and long, with lin­ger­ing smok­i­ness and dusty, har­mo­nious tannins.
