Drinking Window 2025 — 2033
Dark, earthy, smokey and distinctly savory, the 2019 Kaamos makes itself known with a brooding blend of scorched earth, underbrush and black currants lifted by a sweet mint hint. It’s silky- smooth with medium-bodied weight and a core of mineral-tinged red and black fruits that slowly saturate. Dark chocolate nuances and an invigorating burst of tangerine add contrast toward the close. It finishes long, lightly structured and pleasantly chewy with tart wild berries and sage notes. This is a wonderfully complete rendition of Kaamos, a blend of 64% Petite Sirah, 20% Grenache and 16% Mourvèdre. 94+ pts

Finnish for “the polar night”. It’s that time of year in December and January when it’s essentially dark in Finland. An appropriate name for kaamos, as it is Petite Sirah driven and very dark.
