(made from 86% syrah and 14% counoise): Opaque ruby. Pow­er­ful aro­mas of dark berry com­pote, vio­let, smoky herbs and licorice, with slow-build­ing scents of mocha and vanil­la. Lush and appeal­ing­ly sweet on entry, then firmer in the mid-palate, offer­ing chewy black and blue fruit fla­vors and a touch of bit­ter choco­late. The smoky note comes back on the long, sweet, pen­e­trat­ing fin­ish, which shows just a hint of tannins.
