2013 noir - 92 pts from Wine Advocate
Made from 86% Syrah and 14% Counoise that was harvested from the end of August to the middle of September, the 2013 Noir spent 18 months in roughly 60% new French oak (the Syrah was in 60% new, the Counoise in 50% new). It offers ample black fruits, smoked herbs, pepper and damp earth characteristics as well as medium to full-bodied richness, beautifully polished tannin and a great finish. It’s a serious wine that stays in check and has an elegant, layered personality that will drink well for a decade.
