Though pair­ing Syrah with Caber­net Sauvi­gnon is not uncom­mon, it is rare to see so much of the cool-cli­mate char­ac­ter of the for­mer grape lead this blend. Aro­mas of smoked kelp, chopped herb and green pep­per­corn meet with light plum on the nose. There’s ripe straw­ber­ry and cher­ry fla­vor to the sip, where raw and seared lamb and pep­per­corn fla­vors align. 93 pts
