The 2019 Pas de Deux is a seduc­tress on the nose, cap­ti­vat­ing with a whiff of con­fec­tionary spice, cocoa and cin­na­mon that slow­ly reveals dried straw­ber­ries. It’s silky and suave, lift­ed by cool­ing acid­i­ty. Brown spice hints com­pli­cate a wave of min­er­al-tinged blue­ber­ry and black cher­ry. As tobac­co and clove notes fade, this leaves a stony res­o­nance on the palate, quite savory and earthy in char­ac­ter. The Pas de Deux is a blend of 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah refined in 40% new oak. 92 pts
